The Spokane Fire Department Training Complex serves as a symbol of the organization's commitment to "Operational Readiness" and Community Preparedness. The site has become the focal point for department training since the approval of the first Fire Bond Issue in 1989.

Training Administrative Building
The Spokane Fire Department's Training Center is a 16,207 square foot building serving multiple roles. The building houses the Spokane Fire Department's training staff, Homeland Security and the SFD's "Channel 95" Broadcasting Studio and Audio/Visual Technical Services. The building not only has offices and library space, but also houses five live interactive distance learning classrooms able to accommodate nearly 360 students, two edit bays, a television control room, an audio booth and a television studio. This building also serves as the Spokane City/County EOC during major emergencies providing greatly improved capabilities for Spokane's growing area.

Field House
This 26,126 square foot, 5 story tall Fire Department facility is entirely enclosed and provides space for training all year, regardless of the weather. The building is designed to simulate nearly every conceivable type of multi-story configuration that crews will run across in the field and allows the firefighter experience to be safe and controlled. The building provides both fixed and flexible floor configurations, as well as areas for room by room search and rescue, confined space rescue, technical rescue, hose and ladder evolutions, roof cutting, rappelling, new equipment training and apparatus training (apparatus exhaust is safely captured from floor-mounted devices). The field house alone provides more opportunity for various types of training activities to be conducted concurrently with the other facilities on site, such as the live fire burn building, hazardous materials props, and the maintenance shop for scheduled preventative maintenance.
