Administrative / Executive Division
The Fire Chief and the Assistant Chief are primarily responsible for the leadership and management of the Fire Department. Primary responsibilities include Labor/Management relations, budgetary formation and control, strategic planning and implementation, accounting, purchasing, payroll, human resources and inventory control. The Administrative Division also is comprised of three support personnel for budget, payroll and accounting functions.

Fire Marshal / Fire Prevention Division
The Fire Prevention Division is responsible for fire inspections, investigations, building construction development review services, and public fire (and other) safety education related to community fire protection, safety and awareness. The Division is staffed with a total of 17 personnel with supervision being provided by a Fire Marshal/Division Chief.
Training Division
The Training Division of the Spokane Fire Department is responsible for the development, delivery and tracking of mandated training and the compilation and monitoring of training records. The Division is charged with ensuring the operational readiness of 300 uniform personnel who respond to all risk emergencies in the community. It is a goal of the Training Division to provide professional, realistic and relevant training, utilizing innovative techniques and state of the art training facilities. Additionally, the Training Chief is responsible to serve as the Safety Officer for the Department as well as acting as the funeral director on appropriate occasions. The Training Division utilizes Cable Channel 95 to offer as much training as possible to minimize apparatus movements and keep companies in their districts for immediate incident response due to a deployment model that has been decreased significantly over the past 20 years.
Operations Division
The Operations Division is responsible for the delivery of emergency fire, rescue, EMS and HazMat response services to the City of Spokane. The Division is headed by the Deputy Chief of the Department who directly supervises 8 Battalion Chiefs, the Communications Manager and the Division Chief of Emergency Medical Services. The Department provides services with 17 front-line apparatus responding from 14 fire stations. Daily staffing is currently 58 personnel, including two on-duty Battalion Chiefs.
Logistics Division
The Logistics Division is responsible for the planning, specification, purchase and maintenance of vehicles, apparatus, equipment and facilities for the City of Spokane Fire Department. Additionally, it is responsible for the development of the implementation plan of Bond measures approved by voters for Fire Department capital and facility needs. Additional responsibilities include emergency response on larger incidents for logistical support, snow clearing and extensive budgetary control and planning processes.
